Marley’s Curve leaf diverter has been a familiar component in residential rainwater systems since its introduction in 2017. Known for its clean look and simple integration with Marley RP80 80mm downpipes, the product has been widely used where builders and designers want effective debris diversion without adding visual clutter to the exterior of a home.
As building styles and New Zealand weather patterns continue to change, Marley has revisited their design to ensure the Curve keeps performing in today’s conditions.
Increased rainfall intensity, combined with the growth of medium-density housing, means rainwater systems are often dealing with higher roof catchments and faster flow rates. Taller homes and multi-unit developments place greater pressure on downpipes and stormwater infrastructure, making reliable debris diversion increasingly important.
The updated Curve has been refined to handle these higher flow situations while keeping the same compact and discreet profile. Testing shows a water retention rating of less than one percent water loss at 134 litres per minute, giving specifiers and installers confidence that the system will continue performing during heavy rainfall events.
Designed and manufactured in New Zealand, the Curve remains compatible with RP80 downpipes and is available across the full Marley Stratus Design Series colour range, helping maintain consistent exterior finishes across a project.
Installation has also been kept straightforward, with a supplied cutting template that allows installers to integrate the diverter accurately and efficiently on site.
The updated design also increases flexibility on site. The Curve can now be used with 80mm steel downpipes and, with optional adaptors, Marley RP65 65mm systems. This makes it suitable for a wider range of residential projects, including infill housing, townhouses and other low-rise multi-unit developments where protecting stormwater systems and detention/ retention tanks from leaf and debris build-up is critical.
For builders, plumbers and specifiers, the updated Curve offers a practical upgrade to a proven product — maintaining the simple installation and clean appearance it’s known for, while delivering improved performance for modern residential builds.
