Constructive Forum 2021
Published: 24 June 2021

Tackling the issues facing commercial and residential construction

While our sector is in a building boom, we are also facing unprecedented disruption from shortages of skilled labour and key supplies. The issues are complex and will require both short-term solutions, as we navigate the current situation, as well as long-term planning to ensure a more sustainable and robust sector for New Zealand.

Why Attend?

With so much to discuss, the 2021 Constructive Forum will be held over two days in August and will tackle the issues facing both residential and commercial construction. The focus will be on how we can create significant system changes to enable the large-scale shifts needed in areas such as supply, capacity, affordability, and decarbonisation, while also addressing some of the short-term issues which are holding us back now. The sector is facing a period of major regulatory change. Constructive will discuss the impacts, on both what and how we build.

Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson will be speaking at Constructive 2021.  As Minister of Finance and Infrastructure, he will share his view on how New Zealand can address its critical infrastructure deficit. He will also provide an update on the newly established Implementation Unit, which we see as a vital part of the delivery puzzle. You will also have the opportunity to also ask your questions. He will be joined by a line-up of high-profile industry leaders with more being confirmed every week.

Constructive is the only construction industry forum that brings the entire construction supply chain together, from Government decision makers, through to those out in the community delivering the projects, to find practical solutions based on collaboration.
