The Marley dBlue plumbing system is made from a state-of-the-art combination of plastic and sound absorbing mineral filler (PP-MD) to maximise absorbance of sound.
dBlue is ideal for building developers, specifiers and owners requiring low noise plumbing systems, e.g. multi-unit dwellings such as apartments, retirement villages, hotels, and attached housing developments; hospitals and rest homes; office blocks.
Made from a compound developed by the Aliaxis R&D laboratory, dBlue offers a unique combination of acoustic performance, weight, chemical and temperature resistance with mechanical strength.
The triple-layer pipe structure is produced using the latest co-extrusion technology. Each layer has its own function which is optimised to reduce sound levels, increase mechanical characteristics and improve the drainage flow.
Used in conjunction with the dBlue acoustic rubber lined brackets, the system effectively uncouples the vibrations and greatly reduces noise and acoustic vibrations.
An alternative to other systems, dBlue doesn’t require lagging for noise control, which saves on installation time and allows for easy inspection. This system also has high temperature resistance so is ideal for use in commercial kitchens, temperature resistant up to 90 degrees and down to -10 degrees.
Plumbed Up is one company that has been installing more and more dBlue as it’s being spec’d on social housing jobs. Director Nick Jones says “Obviously there are environmental benefits to the occupier because of dBlue’s acoustic properties. For us as installers dBlue’s ring joint system not only saves on mess, it saves on time – particularly as there’s no need for extra lagging. And for all of us in the trade, time means money.”
